How PINs Relate to Projects

Basic units

A PIN identifies an individual tax parcel. A single commercial or industrial development may contain several parcels and therefore several PINs.

A project is the broader property grouping created from the available appeal records, sale documents, valuation worksheets, and parcel proximity. The manually assigned key PIN identifies that grouped project.

Geographic organization

Each PIN is associated with a municipality and a township. The detailed reports are rendered by township because the parcel analysis was written around township boundaries and because there are substantially fewer townships than municipalities.

Municipal boundaries and township boundaries do not always match. A municipality may therefore appear in more than one township report. The municipality directory lists every relevant township report rather than pretending each municipality belongs to exactly one township.

Using the site

Use Municipalities when you know the municipality name. Use Search PINs when you know a PIN, project key PIN, appellant, township, or municipality. Both pages link to the pre-rendered township reports.
